Wind

Wind

There is the breath of you

The taste of you before our lips touch

The inhale, me selfishly wanting your soul,

Wanting you deep inside

Holding my breath,

Holding you deeper inside

My lips parted too long ago, but the taste.

Memories are long torturers.

It is no wonder I sit facing the wind

When the world kicks up, I inhale deeply

Longing for another breath,

Aching for another kiss

It’s never enough, to just breathe one more time

I promise to inhale more deeply

As if my life depended on it

Let my lungs fill with your being.

I would hold you in that way

Letting you burn inside me,

Engulfing my unquenched soul.
